Don’t Penalize Applicants for Multiple Resume Submissions…Yet

Posted in Announcements

You may have noticed in the last day or two you’ve received a lot of duplicate resume submissions. It is important that right now you do not look at any of your candidates in a negative light because of this—the reason is our fault. We know exactly why this is happening, and we want you to know we’ve already put in measures to prevent it from happening again.

What’s Going On?

In a nutshell, our mail server was getting slammed pretty hard with a lot of requests, which that made the submission form take a long time to process. Applicant’s thought something was wrong with the form, and thus tried to submit their resume again.

Behind the scenes, we send two emails every time a resume is submitted. The process does take a few seconds, but at capacity the wait time was just too long. Many applicants may have even seen a white screen, prompting them to click “Back” in the browser and try again.

What We Did

It’s a pretty basic fix. We added more “mail server power” (sparing you the details) to alleviate this problem for the near future. If you have any questions, feel free to send a note to feedback [at] this domain.com and we’ll be happy to talk.
